Score & Parts

Robert K. Mueller, Composer

Instrumentation: oboe, piano

Duration: ca. 8 minutes

The title of this work is taken from the last phrase of the Apostle’s Creed, “von dannen er kommen wird, zu richten die Lebendigen und die Todten” (from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead). Therefore, the two movements refer not only to the realities of life and death, but also to their relationship with the final judgment.  It was composed in 1983 and premiered by Theresa Delaplain, oboe, and Robert Mueller, piano.
