Sinister and Somber Dances was commissioned by and written for Dr. Cory Mixdorf and the University of Arkansas Razorbones.  It was premiered by them in 2018 at the International Trombone Festival. This work takes advantage of the tonal characteristics of the trombone ensemble in both somber and sinister manners. Through the course of the piece, the two contrasting moods intertwine. Uses extended tonal harmonies.
